As many people have noted, we suffer from a lack of unity within our movement for reform. I really believe one of the root causes is that we know what we are against, but we don't share a common vision of what we are for. This is why this group is defined by not only a concept of 'family rights', but also the Membership Scenarios which make things real.
Right now I have control over the software package with use just on this site licensed to me. The membership requirements as laid out in the terms of usehopefully provide a sound foundation.
If this works and the group does grow then we need to formalize this and also provide for elected leadership.
Again, I don't believe the purpose of the council is to control individual agendas or actions -- but to facilitate communication within a core group who share similar goals voluntarily.
