Description Section
Describe how the system affected your family and why you are interested in reform: :

My first marriage ended in unilateral divorce for no reason, and the wife refused repeatedly to discuss joint custody; the children were 9 and 10. So after I took them to India for the summer, I didn't send them back in time, only to pressure her to agree to joint custody, but she came and snatched them back. We had hell for the next 10 years.      My second marriage was to a German psychiatrist. I did not know then that she married me only "for good genes" and to have 3 children. After the 3rd child, she unilaterally divorced- the other children were 6 and 7. I did not know when I married her that in Germany in case of divorce of parents from 2 countries, the youth department and courts routinely conspire to keep the foreign parent out of Germany so the children will be raised 100% German, and they allow any false accusation from the mother for that. I was arrested twice on trying to go to Germany, and could never see the children. After they became adults I could finally meet one once, another twice, and the third one never, and I am still afraid to enter Germany. They children were absolutely totally made to fear and hate me, and they still avoid me. This is the worst case of PAS anyone can imagine.       Fortunately, now I have a great marriage and 2 fine kids.       We should pressure Congress to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Education, work background, and hobbies: :

PhD in South Asian Regional studies, former professor and social scientist, long-time consultant and project manager in (rural) development projects in South Asia, author of several books on peoples of South Asia, now living sometimes in Kodaikanal, South India, also in Rockville MD

Reforms groups and web sites: .:

fathers4justice (UK), (Germany), Maryland Childrens Rights Council,, etc.

My areas of focus for reform: :

1) Congress resolution that Constitutional equal rights means equal parenting, 2) Congress to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, 3) Presumptive equal parenting in Maryland, 4) Reform of gender-biased VAWA, 5) Total overhaul of Federal Government subsidy to the States for colleciton of child support
