|Describe how the system affected your family and why you are interested in reform:
My parents were divorced and my mother, whom I loved very much, couldn't stand my father, whom I also loved very much. Because of the issues between my parents I developed issues and did not get enough time with my father. I am now married and watching my step-son, my brothers and sisters, and my friend's and co-worker's children go through something very similar. I strongly believe that children have a right to know both of their parents. I also believe that the personal agendas of the parents especially those that are looking for vindication should not be forced upon their children. Children deserve more from their parents - not more money or gifts, but more stability, safety, and love. All children deserve to feel safe and loved by both of their parents - that is a basic and essential need.
